How Ask To Know Me Works
Ask To Know Me is a dating profile prototype built around learning about someone before immediately seeing their full profile photo. Instead of swiping mostly on appearance, visitors can ask questions, explore approved answers, and gradually unlock more visual context as they learn more.
The basic idea
Profiles are built from approved public answers, private interview answers, and optional photos. The goal is to help visitors understand the person first, then reveal more visual information over time.
What you can do as a visitor
- Browse demo profiles.
- Ask the Know Me Guide questions about a profile.
- Learn from approved public answers.
- Unlock visual reveal progress as you explore meaningful answers.
- Send a connection request when interested.
- Flag anything that seems confusing, incorrect, or inappropriate.
What you can do as a profile owner
- Build your profile step by step.
- Add public answers.
- Keep some interview answers private.
- Upload context photos and a final reveal photo.
- Review visitor questions that your profile could not answer.
- Turn good visitor questions into new public answers.
How the Know Me Guide works
The Guide should only answer from approved public information that is relevant to the question. If the profile has not publicly answered something, the Guide should say that instead of guessing. Unanswered visitor questions can become Profile Gaps for the profile owner to review later.
How photo reveal works
Visitors start with limited visual information. As they ask meaningful questions and learn more, they can unlock more visual context. The final reveal photo comes later, after enough meaningful profile exploration.
What testers should look for
- Did you understand what to do next?
- Did any page feel confusing or too busy?
- Did the Guide answer from the right information?
- Did the Guide ever guess or answer too loosely?
- Did the reveal flow feel fair and interesting?
- Did the profile setup process feel clear?
- Did anything look broken on mobile or desktop?
Prototype note
This is still a prototype. Some demo profiles, photos, and flows are for testing only. The goal right now is to find confusing areas, broken flows, and places where the experience can be simpler.
